Whether you are purchasing the Chromebook for the first time or you want to upgrade from an older model, you need to know what you look for in the best Chromebook which do not bother you later. 

Before you make your selection you need to set your budget. Chrome operating system runs well on the hardware in comparison to the other operating systems.  



A Chromebook is a laptop which runs Google’s Chrome operating System. You can access Chromebooks only when it is connected to the internet. These are mainly designed for the person who spends their most of time on the internet. Because of its low price and long battery life many people are considering a Chromebook. 

The best Chromebooks 2017 run Chrome operating system, they rely highly on Google’s application and requires an active internet connection to access. For a better experience, you can log into Chrome OS as a guest using Google’s credentials. 

Chromebook only supports Google’s apps like Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Drive. But if you use some other services like Microsoft outlook or yahoo mail, it might take some time to get adjusted to Google’s Operating System.

Some of the most popular services like Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft office are not available on Chromebooks. In spite of that, you would be able to get work done on these devices. Microsoft office is available as a series of apps for Chromebooks, and you always require native Google Drive to open and edit spreadsheet and documents.



Using Google Drive, a user would be able to create everything from a text document to spreadsheets and PPT presentations plus all your old documents (Microsoft Word) will be directly imported into Drive, giving you access to work on those files. Apart from this, there are many photo editors software are available for Chrome OS including the open-source GIMP image editor. 

Chromebooks heavily rely on the internet connection, which means that you may not access many apps and applications if you are out or Wi-Fi range. However, there are more than 200 apps that can work without internet connections including Gmail, Pocket and Google Drive and much more android apps will also work offline in coming few months.

You will be limited to titles available in the Chrome Web Store if you are playing games on Chromebooks. Chrome OS are enabled with voice controls, so when you say “OK Google” with the launcher open, the voice assistant will pop up, ready to serve you.
